Appointments
Urgent advice: Urgent Appointment
If you feel that your condition is serious and you need to be seen urgently at the surgery, please phone 01355 578009 from 8 am and tell the receptionist who will arrange for you to be seen as quickly as possible. Please do not request an urgent appointment if you do not really need it as you may be denying another patient whose need is greater.
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.
Non-urgent advice: Routine Appointment
Consultation is by appointment only. Appointments may be made by telephone on 01355 578009 or at reception from 8.30am.
Please give the receptionist as much information as possible in order that they can assist you and signpost you to the most appropriate person for treatment.
We offer a range of appointments every morning and afternoon either Telephone consultations or Face to Face. These can be booked on the day.
All appointments with the Practice Nurse are pre-bookable.
Non-urgent advice: Home Visits
If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.
To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice on 01355 578009 before 10am.
Non-urgent advice: Extended Hours
Do you work full-time and find it hard to get to the surgery during our normal working hours? To try and make things a bit easier for you we now provide GP appointments between 7:30am and 8:30am on certain days of the week.
For more information please speak to our receptionist.
Non-urgent advice: Cancelling or changing an appointment
To cancel your appointment:
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

Check-ups
Phlebotomist
All blood tests are now carried out at the Treatment Room Service, Hunter Health Centre, or Greenhhills Health Centre, East Kilbride.
Please ask the receptionist for details.
If you need help when we are closed
Lanarkshire Health Board is responsible for the provision of out-of-hours services. To access this service you should phone the surgery number as usual where you will be given the contact details for NHS 24. Or you may contact NHS 24 directly by calling 111 or visit their website www.nhs24.com
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
If you need help with your appointment
Please tell us:
- if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to consult with
- if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone or face-to-face
- if you need an interpreter
- if you have any other access or communication needs
Training Practice
GP Trainees
The Practice is approved as a Training Practice for doctors who wish to become General Practitioners in their own right. Our GP Speciality Trainees are fully-qualified doctors with several years’ postgraduate experience and are considered to be full members of the Practice team. You may be offered appointments with the Registrar and, should you need an emergency appointment or visit, they may attend you.
Medical Students
The practice is actively involved in teaching students from the University of Glasgow. You will always be advised on arrival if there will be students involved in any of the surgeries. Please let us know if you do not wish to be seen by students – this will not prejudice your care in any way.
